OK Geo, I altered my plans so I fly out Monday after this gathering. Count me in for group on the Ellingwood Ridge. I am looking forward to seeing you all again soon! If anyone wants to carpool from Boulder, please send me an email. Fran

Oh, wait - thinking about it in a less lucid state of mind, I'm bringing the projector Sat night. The slide show will start after I get there. 8) I'll not be too late. Geo - Sean & Anne w/ pooch might come up; Anne's dad is staying in town acclimatizing for a couple of weeks for the L100, so they have added incentive after their Keystone bikey thing on Saturday, said it sounded like a good idea last night. I'll try to be in town while the sun's still up on Sat. Need a screen as well or have a big white wall? If anyone is headed over to Aspen/Glenwood between now and then, PM me and pick up an extra copy of the new I-Pass guidebook for me? Cheers all. Hey, is Charlie (climb4life) coming with Mort?

tradkelly -- sean and anne hudson? you tell that gangly hillbilly i said he'd better get his @ss over here or i'll hunt him down and kick his butt! how he ended up with a sweetie like anne is beyond me. :D also ... were you one of the crewmembers the year i paced him in the leadville trail 100? i seem to remember a kelly. the poor sap had just come off the flu, was feeling like crap, and he'd taken on almost no nutrition the entire race. i knew it was pretty much over at about mile 75 -- about 3 am -- when he looked at me and said, "hi i'm sean ... who are YOU?"   then he lay down on the trail and curled up to try to sleep!

HERE'S some incentive for you! this is from a pm to me from mikedano, the subject line of which was "pie pie pie pie" [b:1ff431e84d]"I have been instructed to inform you that my better half/mrs mikedano will be bringing some delicious baked goods to your big event in a few weeks. It will be pie or bread or something delicious no doubt."[/b:1ff431e84d] hey -- who DOESN'T love pie!?  "when you die, if you're given the choice between regular heaven and pie heaven, choose pie heaven. it MIGHT not be real -- but if it IS ... mmmmmm!" -- from "deep thoughts" by jack handy

Geo, so tell us a story about the L100 when HBO came to film it. You volunteered to show the camera men good vantage points... and nearly killed them hiking over the mountains ... and he ended up carrying all their gear too. I think S&A are in. They say wow and hi and studly and all that. :) Bob D', I'll be in the market for one of those guides fer sure. Ready to go... Ready to go...

tradkelly -- oh, yeah ... hbo sports hired me to guide one of their camera teams around to film the (i think it was) 1998 event. so i show up with my pack full of stuff for the three of us (camera crew: "packs? no one told us we needed packs!") for 24 hours -- a good 20 pounds -- and the camera guy says, "hey, would you mind carrying this here tripod? it's made of KEVLAR." so i think, okay ... kevlar ... light. right? well, you'd THINK so ... but the damn thing weighed about 50 pounds. by the time we finished, we'd been up and down the race's high point at hope pass something like six times (and me hauling the kevlar anti-christ)!! hell, the racers only had to do it ONCE! i almost killed THEM and they almost killed ME! i'll fill you in at the gathering ...

I have a screen I can supply. It looks like Sunday won't be possible for at least Hallie as she is off to CU for a summer engineering program for prospective freshman. If harmony exists on the home front through all this I'll be there all weekend. :P

Excellent, Gman! So we'll have many multiple hardmen to show us around. Lookin' forward to seein' you again. Bummer Hallie won't we there for Sunday. It should be a good crowd - I hung with some of them after the first 11mile gathering and they're not nearly as crude as the posts might suggest. Of course, I can't speak for the host....... 8) Talk to ya in a week!

In reply to: well, looks like i'm the new bail queen. Just a thought here, atg. Some have referred to Skibby and other members of the feminine persuasion as the "bail queen" or "bail princess". But given this group's discussions of the Village People, sheep, and other sordid affairs, you may wish to retract the "queen" thing. But then again, this is the 21st century.

At the risk of being slain, flamed and hung by my toenails, I'm just wondering if any of you peeps attending the gathering are taking on other BIG endeavors aside from the ridge on Sat. The reason I'm asking is because I did LaPlatta via a different route a couple of weeks ago so I'd like to bag something I haven't done yet. Also wondering how the climb will be w/so many people. Don't hurt me.
