I would be interested if there is any chance of getting some Yakisoba and Teriyaki at the fest? I prefer my food cooked...

nature wrote: I'd have to give a little thought to the Yakisoba and Teriyaki idea. As far as the food being cooked I suppose it's worth noting that most of the ingredients in sushi are cooked. The Big Eye I get from Hawaii is served raw - sashimi. But I also bring in a bunch of stuff that is cooked: organic shrimp, crab (real), smoked tuna/salmon, seared tuna, unagi (freshwater eel). Plus I make sure to cater to the folks that don't do any fish (veggie/vegan rolls). I also like to tempura stuff and deep fry it (tofu, asparagus, shrimp, etc.) Most of the ingredients I use are certified organic. I'll also be bringing in real wasabi (rhizome). Fun: a ridiculous amount of it. That's half the point. No problem there. Glad to hear everything is so environmentally friendly, and I don't mean to be rude, but... how much oil will be burned flying that sushi over from Hawaii, driving out to the desert, and keeping it under 41 degrees?

el_layclimber wrote: Glad to hear everything is so environmentally friendly, and I don't mean to be rude, but... how much oil will be burned flying that sushi over from Hawaii, driving out to the desert, and keeping it under 41 degrees? Nice job guys. Nature is kind enough to invite y'all to one of the more laid back, festive, imaginative, and fun events put together by climbers (and attended by a wide mix of old school and new people) and your inane drivel drives him away. You may now continue with the usual crapola TS

Burning Barn will rise from the ashes and jam again! Yeah, what PMB said is true. Anyone that is interested is still invited. I've recieved a whole bunch of enouragment to simply ignore the reptilian brains. The cool people that are smart enough to know what's up will always be welcome. I'll debate starting another post though... http://www.sushibynature.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=2 And thanks PMB, troutboy and cosmic - I don't hang here enough to elbow my way around. And troutboy said it best. This isn't an exclusive club and everyone is invited. We do prefer you have a clue though...

Nature is spreading the joy from what started over on Supertopo.com. I have yet to attend one of the events, but I really can't think of a larger, more well-received gathering of climbers that didn't involve a "competition" or paid sponsoship of some sort. The "who's who" list of attendees has been rather impressive -- not that we care much about that kind of crap, but if you'd like to rub elbows with some legends and those who have been legends in their own minds this is the party to attend. Thanks for putting another one together, Nature! Hopefully I'll be able to make it this time. Ed
