Beercan (AKA Fratboy) said he doesn't remember how to climb, but can s--- talk around a campfire well enough to get his ass out there.
Is TaoRock going to make it?

psssst, after 8 years of successful undergraduate study, resulting finally in a degree, gainful employment might be considered the next logical step--by some.

Now I know why this topic has 11 pages to it...

I kid, I kid. Will a PM or something of the sort be going out to remind us simple folks about things like how to get to the campground, and who to tip over first?

Curt, here's to heel-hooking tree-limbs after a couple-three glasses of booze..

Holy catchup....

In reply to:
BVB, I think that site is off-limits right now due to fire dangers.

If Ivan and Erica go, then there is NO WAY I'm gonna miss it. Even if it is a week before I head to Thailand.

Awww, Kel. It'll be so great to see you guys again!

In reply to:
I've been saying this for 4 years but I really will climb with Erica. Oh yes. I mean it this time for reals.

I lay awake at night sometimes and think..."Maybe it's just not meant to be??" and then I remind myself that you love crack and I've been clean and sober since...well....my first taste of crack, and then I go right back to sleep.

You gonna head over to the Pit with me this year? (Iffin' I can still get my ass up anything anymore....)

In reply to:
I think you are all Dirty Pirate Internet Whores

If Erica and Ivan are in I am SOOOOOOO in.

Yeeeee-haw! Twice a year of seein' yer cute lil' mug just ain't enough.

Beercan (AKA Fratboy) said he doesn't remember how to climb, but can s--- talk around a campfire well enough to get his ass out there.

It's twoo, it's twooo! Beercanclimber has become arthritic, and has limited himself to climbing twin peaks, if you get my drift... But we can still make all kinds of alcohol disappear. I am still climbing (boulders of the granite kind) but I haven't frequented the boards since posting up for last year's gathering. At any rate, I'm in if bvb, bobd, curt, erica and ivan are going! And I'll bring my twin brother this year, for added confusion. Is TaoRock going to make it?

Oh sweet!! I was hoping you two (three??) could make it. I'm not sure if we can handle 2 of you though, Charles  That ruckus round the campfire last year was finely matched. This'll just make it plain unfair :P

And Curt, if you talk to Brent, ask him to bring Evelyn WHEN he comes!

In reply to:
Curt, here's to heel-hooking tree-limbs after a couple-three glasses of booze..

HEY! I resemble that remark. And I had no booze prior. Sheer stupidty on my part, thankyouverymuch. Unless you are talking about an equally stupid event that I was not privy to?

In reply to:

Curt

Ok, I kind of resemble this one too...but...NOT ANYMORE!!! I have gainful employment!! (working for a non-profit)

OK, ENOUGH of this witty (and not-so-witty), friendly, kiss-assy banter! See you in October beeyatches!!

Love with all my heart,

Erica

Crack, moi? Only if it's green Alien-sized or smaller and I can make Kole put the rope on it. I prefer pockets. So, THE PIT IT IS!

Keep reaching kiddo  I have the Chizelton guide book and the other locals (ya know, the same friends as yours) to show me around. I know the killer restaurants too. Lived here for 30 some odd years  and I make a mean omlette.

What else you got? Besides being able to climb circles around me, ropegun?

Yeah, From two years ago at queen creek, when Chris, Curt, and others were foraging for more wood for the fire. Curt reckoned that a well-placed heel hook would break a large branch free from the tree they were wrestling with. Turns out... he was quite right.

and yes.. see you in October, I can't wait to see stacked glowsticks !

Everybody seems to already know everybody on this thread, and quite well too. The way everyone is chatting, y'all must be best friends and eat Christmas dinner together or something.

To those of us with little desire to improve our pitifully meager social skills, infiltrating an already established clique can be more intimidating than 60' of runout.

This is the reason that the only 'gathering' I have attended was the recent J-Tree one. It seemed less clique-ish. Maybe it would be easier to just go to Cochise with a few close friends.

[...phugganut waits until no one is looking and then quietly sneaks out of the room...]
