Thanks goes out to everyone for a great time on Sat. I had fun but Tristan said he didn't because he didn't climb that much. Although it did sound like laughter when the kids were throwing Bear Berries at each other. :D

Tracy, I will send you a PM.

As far as extra gear goes I don't think I have anyones, but I will check tonight.

If anyone wants to climb this Sun. with kids I would like to get together. My surgery is Mon. so it will be my last weekend for a while.

Where would you like to go? I could be up for a trip to the Garden... I've never been, though I do have the guidebook.

Phaedrus, The Garden sounds great to me. It's close and has some good good routes and since you haven't climbed there before I think it would be a good choice.

Cool. :) I'll give you a call later in the week and we'll get things set up.

Does anyone know of anyone in Northwest Washington who climbs with kids? I'm running up in a few days and I've posted in the West Coast Partners forum but apparently no one has kids (or they need to work). My kids were really hoping to meet other climbing kids on the trip.

I think I'll try in a few months (when life calms down) to have a kids climb here in Idaho. Like Castle Rocks State Park maybe. I mention it here in your post only because I'm sure us non-colorado people with kids view this just because they have kids. That's the only reason I looked.

Sounds like your get together was a lot of fun.

Count me in Todd! But can we maybe look at possibly another area? It would be cool to do the camping/climbing thing. Penetente is very kid friendly, has great camping and some fun routes for kids and adults. It's a bit of a drive but it would be very, very fun.

Sure... not a problem! :) Besides, going to the same old place every year when we have the entire state as our playground would get kinda boring. :)

When do we want to do it this year? 16th & 17th o' July?

How does July 16-17 sound... either Shelf Road or Penitente?

Okay, since an idiot recently decided to pull out in front of my car recently, causing us to play a game of "I Can Put A Bigger Dent In Your Car Than You Can Put In Mine" Tag (I won, by the way), I'm not sure I'll be able to make it this weekend. My car is likely going to be in the shop gettting new body work done (their expense... it WAS their fault, after all) and I'm not sure as to the status of a rental (I'm planning on making his insurance pay for it). So... is the weekend still on? Shelf Road is the plan now, yeah? If we can make it, we'll be there!!

Todd et all,

Anyone interested in doing this this weekend? I'd like to take the boys camping on Friday night and then climbing on Saturday. Anyone else interested? We could find a place to camp near the Springs and climb at Red Rock Canyon, which is great for kids. Or we could do Shelf or Turkey Rocks. Anyone else interested?
