Not sure...I competed last weekend, but it was an indoor competition. I have another idea...I was thinking about shooting the comp, bringing a printer and having photos ready for competitors. Sell them for a cheap price and give proceeds to PAC. What do you think?

In reply to: Is it cool to go and just boulder for fun and not compete??? I dont know if i want to compete yet, would it be ok if i just went and did other problems those 2 days ?? governor's stables is a PRIVATE climbing area you MUST be either in the comp (which gives you membership to the PAC) or a member of the PAC GS is closed to members for climbing the weekend of the comp...for obvious reasons our insurance costs are around $7,000.00 and on top of that we lease this land from 6 different people we don't EVEN come close to raising that from the comp NO...you can't climb if you are not in the comp that weekend all of those people who are supporting josh, randy, mike and myself...for trying desperately to hang unto this place we applaud you!! thanks for all stepping up to the plate IF more of you did from the state (not mentioning names here) we would be able to possibly open safe harbor and sex wall again...it takes more than a handful of dedicated ppl from PA to pull this off yes...this is centrally located but then so are the active members.... i'm not trying to bithc or complain...guilt?? prolly!! GET involved! we can make a difference i'll be moving out of the state i was very apprehensive about taking on such a high profile position knowing my future plans but...i owe it to my fellow pennsylvanian's i want to leave my mark...do you????

chalker-- Sorry for not getting back to you. If you have paid your registration fee, then consider yourself a member of the PAC and you are welcome at the clean ups (whenever the weather gets better and we can have them). Other folks should contact me directly if they want to participate in a clean-up but are not PAC members. Josh

In reply to: chalker-- Sorry for not getting back to you. If you have paid your registration fee, then consider yourself a member of the PAC and you are welcome at the clean ups (whenever the weather gets better and we can have them). Other folks should contact me directly if they want to participate in a clean-up but are not PAC members. Josh [Randy's Opinion, Obersvations, and Analysis] Josh, given the PAC --may I say-- struggling or maybe renassiance-like state, why not allow everyone and their mom to come to something like a clean-up? If its for the G.S. Comp, 1) they'll be doing much needed work, and 2) I guareentee that once they see that place-- given they're a climber, my mommy doesn't climb-- that they'll pay that 45 bucks in a heartbeat. Please, if anything changes in the new PAC, don't make it so exclusive to those looking on from the other side of the fence (non-PAC climbers). Such a statement as "only PAC members" may be chopping off future activists. For example, what if I'd bring along my three non-PAC buddies, whom I'm ranted and raved about the climbing at GS since the first comp. Still hestitant of shelling out the 45 beans, they come along, get a good taste of climber activism and 1) become a member, and more importantly, 2) have a positive first experience of both the acceptness of the PAC AND of actively participating in PAC events (clean-up, access intiatives, etc.) [/Randy's Opinion] So I wish you the best of luck as you lead the PAC into the exciting times of the future. God Bless. randy

Randy-- I agree with what you are saying. The reason I made the statement above is that my concern lies in the difference between allowing anyone to showup for a cleanup (and most likely also doing some bouldering once we're done) and allowing anyone to show up anytime to climb. For example, yes, we'de love for you to join us for a clean up and to bring all your friends who want to learn more about GS. However, you cannot bring your friends on any given day to just show them around. The reason I asked people to contact me is so I could explain this. So, in conclusion. Yes, the general public is invited to the clea-ups. However, to climb at GS on another day you must be a member. Most people do not realize the HUGE costs that go into keeping this place open. Josh

In reply to: i think what you're trying to ask is if others can come to video tape or take picts of the event? Is there a media/onlooking fee? While there is not a set fee for noncompetitors, we will be requesting donations. It will be one of those pay what you can afford deals. After all, this is our primary fund-raiser for the year. You folks need to remember, insurance has gone way up for everybody in every field, including us. That means that we will need to raise even more money than years past. Grrrr... Josh

Hay all, I've got some bad news. I over looked my schedule and it looks like I can't make it. Work, I just love work. I would take off for the weekend but the ooze fest is the following weekend. Work wouldn't allow me to take off for both so I had to pick. I was really looking foward to seeing everyone again, I hope to see most of you's at the Fest though. Crank hard everyone, Chris edited: Josh, Did you get my PM?

In reply to: There are a whole bunch of folks who have said they're in, but haven't signed up! What gives?? I haven't signed up yet only because I haven't put the $45 together yet. Next paycheck I was figuring on submitting my registration. <=glen=>

I can only imagine it is too late to plan this, but I need a ride to GS from philly. Im currently living in nyc and would be able to, easily, take a train to philly. If you think you might be able to help me out, which is doubtful, then reply here, message me, or email me: beg213 # @ # nyu.edu
