Oh, So this is when people start to bail, I hope I don't starve to death. Oh well, as long as the beer gets there. I could live quite a while on liquid bread.

Having met some of the Ohio group while climbing this weekend, I'm thinking about joining you all for the first weekend. I've never been to NRP--but Seneca is one of my favorite places on earth. I have two questions: 1. Are there routes that stay dry even on rainy days? 2. Since I cannot leave until 3 Friday at the earliest, If I get down there by 9 can I still get in on Friday? There was something about the gate being locked at dusk. Can I leave my car by the gate and walk in? Or should I just resign myself to princess snowbird?

There is no gate at NRP, so you'll be able to drive in but we will have to figure out where to park once you unload (we will help you with that). If you don't mind roughing it, don't bother with Pricess Snowbird.

Conditions report from the Seneca Valley- Sun, wind, and plenty of drying rock. The week threatens some rain, but the rivers are beginning to go down, so drainage is again possible, unlike the earlier part of the year and month, when it was all pretty much running on top of puddles.... Seneca was dry enough, Sunday, and Franklin was only mildly wet in the predictable spots (parking lot walls, under the deeper roofs, pockets near cracks, etc). If it rains, you will still be able to crank the right variation on Limestoned, (left end of the parking lot wall, starts on the left side of the cave) but Route of All Evil will be dripping and SLAP will also be seeping. The highest walls, of course, dry first, and are generally crankable by mid-morning, once it clears. Still planning on Ronin's Breakfast Burritos this weekend and next... what's the count for Saturday morning, as of now, folks?
