Hey ya'll. I just had a cancellation of events, seems the lawyer i was going to march across the divide for the weekend got tied up in court tomorrow, so I will be able to make my first appearance at one of these epic Colorado gatherings. Ill bring lots of enthusiam and vim, verve and vigor, albeit encapsulated with my prudnet use of self control. And Geo, Ill bring some Single malts to liven the evening. Look forward to meeting you folks. Jason

I'll be the first to say it... The gathering was a blast! Lots o' fun. Enough drunkeness, debauchery, lewd behavior, and other various types of misconduct to last a year! Or at least until we do the winter climb at Geo's! Seven bottles of wine, three cases of beer, some Herradura Tequila, a half-bottle of 15 year old Single Malt Scotch, a HUGE pot of kickin' pasta and sauce (Thanks, Skibby!) and lots of good laughs, stories, and jokes. And that was just on Friday night... Saturday climbing was kinda rough. No alpine starts in this group (except Geo, who is hard-core to the bone!) and most of us slagged, flailed, and squirmed our way up the routes. Lumpy Ridge, Left Book area was taken over by us. Good routes, there. Did the 4 pitch "Hiatus-White Whale link-up" (don't ask!) and then did the first pitch of Hiatus again to get my cordlette (again, don't ask!) Rapped off, hiked out and headed back. Saturday night dinner at Ed's, then back to the cabin for more revelry. Tradkelly was supposed to fix ropes for the "Midnight Naked 5.7" but everyone was too whipped (including Tradkelly, who was running on little sleep and looked beat-down.) Sunday, back to Lumpy, for more routes. We all split up, more or less, and did our own routes. Tradkelly and I sent a 5.6R slab (or, as we called it, 5.6 MA,) then went to do "Magical Chrome Plated Semi-Automatic Enema Syringe," a fabulous 5.7 route, both on the Pear Buttress. After two pitches, we walked off, and hiked out. What a great weekend.... thank you very much to everyone that came, and I'm so glad to have made new friends and partners. Pictures *might* get posted... then, too, they might not!

Wish I could have made the road trip up for this one, but as you know, we had our own little AZ gathering this weekend. The only reason I'd ever leave AZ is to hit up some of the remarkable stuff up in CO. Add in the bonus of a chance to meet Skibby, Flamer, Trac, ATG, and others...hard to pass up. See you next time! Ed

I had a blast too. It was cool to meet some of the people from the site. Whose guidebook do I have. And how can I get it back to you? Jeremy
