So Nov. 1 location is yet to be decided. A sunny place no doubt, probably sport if it's cold to quicken the climbing perhaps? What about climbing stuff this weekend then? George, I hear you are working. It's Friday 8:00 PM.

In reply to: We geriatrics are still nursing our wounds from the last Colorado event Some of the geriatrics didn't even MAKE it to the last Colorado event (11 Mile with Annie and Pornstarr...) Don't tell me you're still recovering from Estes/Lumpy? If so, then your standing as Poster Girl for Suck will be renewed forthwith.

i'm going to have to quote nikegirl for this one... "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!" i'm up for anything on saturday/sunday. i can even make it EARLY this time (read: no big party plans for halloween). if we decide to stay around the front range for climbing both days, my house is open for lounging, dinner, a game or two of twister or strip scrabble & slumber, if needed. or if we head up to summit county, there is always 'the cabin' (if you don't want anyone terrorizing your cats, skibby!). one note, though... i'm no cook!

In reply to: my house is open for lounging, dinner, a game or two of strip scrabble "Strip Scrabble?" I feel a terrible illness coming on.. one that will prevent me from making it to work, but not so bad as to prevent me from using "xylyl" (look it up... it is a word) in a Scrabble game.
In reply to: one note, though... i'm no cook! With an offer of Strip Scrabble, who the hell cares if you can cook?!?! I do love Colorado... *MUCH* better than Georgia.

So if I get a Triple word score for 100+ points, then it's 30 minutes in the broom closet with the Coor's Light twins? Oh, Lord, I'm in... and Medical Terminology counts, right? Lesse... how many points for "zygomatic"??

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you were the one standing in the middle of camp at 11 Mile, wearing little more than a smile, and you claim we don't know how (ahem,) "big" that thing is going to get? Perhaps a metaphor to help the rest of the group visualize... An inch worm skewered on a toothpick. Have a nice day. P.S. I know, I know... "Bite me."

Skibs, Any word on the opening date for Copper Mountain? I must believe that some of the snow they're blowing is finally sticking. As for rock climbing on Saturday, the picture doesn't look very good. If the storm stays north, Shelf Road may be a possibility, but that would be a pretty big commute (especially for a certain W.P. birthday girl).

[quote:3834f69546="skibabeage"]Didn't we come up with some appropriate responses at another Colorado gathering? "An inch and a half of dangling fury...." "Hung like a dollar roll of quarters....." I believe Geo still hasn't gotten the message![/quote:3834f69546] you people are gonna' be singing a different tune and picking splinters when i finally [i:3834f69546]unlimber the timber[/i:3834f69546]. as for shorty's whining ... tell him to slap on some tights, screw a hat on his pointy little head and suck it up. climbing is a year-round activity to the hardcore.

skibby and i just spoke on the phone and agreed on a couple of things: 1. there's not gonna' be enough quality snow to slide upon, so we might as well throw [i:d2c0b57912]that[/i:d2c0b57912] idea in the round file. 2. nobody wants to put up with shorty's whining about the cold all weekend. soooo ... considering the forecast calls for snow all weekend (yesssss!), and considering the history of climbing is lousy with stories of "waiting out the weather", why don't we just congregate at club skib, and have a nice little get-together for our favorite wenchfully lusty climbing mama? we could cook, drink (in moderation) watch some videos and take turns hooking martha's diabetic cat to the IV kit! okay, who's all with me? let's gooooooooooo!!!!!

In reply to: Not to brag or fish for birthday wishes or anything, but I'm going to be a year older on November 1st than I am now. Happy Birthday to you! A bunch of Pennsylvania climbers will be climbing at the Gunks this weekend, we will raise a glass in your honor! Gail
