I have checked into Campton National Forest and they have group camp sites (1-100 people) available for the 11 thru 14th of Oct. I don't know the group rate yet. The Campton web site is thru the National Forest Service. Anyway, if this is a possibility I suggest we reserve it soon.If not let me know what you have in mind.

I like Madriver's idea about the group camping!!
It would be nice to be in the same area as the rest of the RC.commers....

I know little to nothing about camping in the area and I'm not old enough to reserve sites... if you guys want to do that, I'm gonna have to say "you're on your own".
I'll make calls if you'd like since I'm a bit more local, but it's up to you to reserve and all that junk.

So it looks like we all have some good options here.
I guess my question now is who has made reservations and who hasn't?
I would like to camp in the same general area as most so we can get a chance to hang out after a day of climbing. Thoughts?
So if you have made reservations please post the campsite you will be staying at.
If you haven't made reservations reply and we can figure out where to go from there.
Can't wait!!

Rumney Climbers
Here are my thoughts on the group camp thing. I can reserve a Campton group site (no problem). Please PM or Email me so I can get an approximate number of people who want to stay a Campton. There are several sites and can hold up to 100 campers and 44 cars! Otherwise I will reserve a family site at Campton and hang out a sign (see rrAdam in Yosemite) for all who wish to hang out. Just realize that Campton is 30 min away from the action. For me the the camping at the National Forest is worth the inconvienance (spell?). I will also be glad to give anyone my two cents on the camp grounds I have stayed at Rumney (2 weeks ago) if you are interested. Also, I and my traveling rock show of people who can acctually climb (does not include me!) are going to be in the Gunks the 2nd weekend in Sept. 7th-8th. Any logistic info on the area I.E camping!, food, and anything of help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, heres the deal!
The Campton group (Site B) camping is available for the nights of Oct. 11th - 13th. They will only quote a price if you have an exact # of people and cars. I used 20 people and 10 cars. Cost - a whopping $25.00 U.S dollars per night for the entire group. So, it does not seem like very much regardless of the no. of people. It is available but I suggest we act soon in order to get this site. Let me know.

Just a side note-- the Sandwich Fair is also going on that weekend. It's close, and might be worth a few hours of your time.

Well I'm not for sure yet but more than likely I'll forego the Canadian invasion of Kentucky in favour of the flanking manouver on New Hampshire.
I will probably set up a trip through New England out to Nova Scotia for a few days after the Rumney meet if anyone is interested in riding along. Or if anyone is still around after the Monday, maybe some NH climbing.
Would anyone care to try a trip up Cannon Cliff for some multi-pitch trad? Not sure if I can take a long weekend of the lighter side
Just a quick warning to our west coasties, remember your toukes and long-johns for the evenings eh!!!
