Gosh, it looks as though we may have made other plans for that weekend....or something like that. He He! The boys at home will have quite a bit to say if I come home with any nail job wether bad or good. The U.S Military sort of looks down on its top male soldiers having blue toenails. Not to mention that Mrs. Diego might not approve. And besides, I don't think you all are tough enough....Yeah, that's right, that's a challenge. If you can do it, feel free to try.

Oh, I definitely approve. Nobody will see his feet here anyway, he wears boots when he actually puts on a uniform (which isn't all that often anymore) You all have my assistance. He can't fight back if I'm helping.

Don we have a secret weapon on our side you have yet to know about. As for the military bullcrap line we got rck_clymber to do it and hes a Army boy..Of course hehasnt been heard from or seen since SLC..We think he broke that dontask dont tell line, but we are sure the boys in the jail love his blue toes And besides the secret weapon we have its almost impossible to turn nikegirl down when sheis kneeling at your feet with those sweet eyes of hers looking up at you

ya know, i hate to be "that guy," especially on my first post ever (been watching from behind a rock for a couple months), but I feel someone has to drop the caveat.
when you arrive at rumney you will undoubtedly get a chance to peruse ward smith's excellent guidebook. it would be excelent for you to check the first section that outlines the issues for area climbers. there is a dedicated group of locals and semi-locals. If ya don't wanna buy it, you might be able to pick up a copy at the rock barn or rumney village store (only store in rumney) and check the section quickly.
I bring this rather obvious topic up because while it seems that most are taking the matter of accomodations-finding seriously, others will (undoubtedly) be tempted to show up and just crash where they like. This is not a very good idea for any weekend at Rumney, especially Col. Day weekend. And don't hope that you can get away with sleeping in one of the parking lots at the crags. Along similar lines, let's carpool from campsites (or houses, or Plymouth State dormrooms, or wherever you're staying) because the lots get FULL on fall weekends even without an organized gathering of this size, and parking on he roadside is as feasible as my attempt on a 5.12a in the cave at cathedral the other day. (I hate gravity)
As I said, I have not been participating in or watching the action here at rc.com for very long, so I might be stating some obvious stuff here and I apologize for that. But let's make sure that we don't add to the impact at an area that has been doing better lately with community relations.

Don't worry... we will be as courteous and efficient as we can possibly manage (and anyone who isn't will have to face my wrath!)
In addition to it being "common climbing sense" (if you will), we WILL be representing Rockclimbing.com so it will be doubly important to not makes asses of ourselves.
I'll get the gang that's going to be with me to carpool, and reccomend it to everyone else. I think that between the group campsite and the place Jan is offering everyone else should have a place to stay, so we won't have to worry about that either.
I appreciate your concern... really. I hope you can make it up for the gathering.
