You might want to PM madriver, he has a list going on pg 6 and I was under the impression that he was taking care of the reservation. Oh to everyone else, only my wife is allowed to paint my toenails.

Blue, no way. I prefer my bright slutty red. I get more looks that way and if you're going to get looks you might as well get the strangest ones possible.

MR Here .. Sorry for the lack of response, have been in N.C (OBX). Anyway... due to the semi lack of interest in the group site at Campton I have not made a reservation yet. I was going to suggest to all those who responded to me that they get a family site on their own. You can have up to (8) people at the family sites. Since it dosen't look like were going to have much more than that for the group site. If anyone else wants to do the group site please let me know A.S.A.P! otherwise go for the other group situation or the family sites. I will definetley reserve the group site if there is enough interest, but, I need to do it soon. Thanks All, Bob

Hey fawkes, What about jhwnewengland's post? Sounds like he has a place to stay at as well. Maybe that would be the best option? Hey Jan, How many ppl can you accommodate?

13 pages of posts to plan 2-3 days of climbing? I hope the actual climbing goes smoother than the planning. Anyway...I do hope you all have a great time. Out of curiosity... I tend to think of Rumney as a destination for single pitch sport climbs. Does anyone know?...are there longer climbs as well? I went to college in Main years ago but that was long before a single route had been put up at Rumney.

Fawkes, let me know if you need people to partner up with for a site. Mrs. Diego and I still don't know where we are staying. I would imagine that if he has enough room, we will stay at Jan's. Good showers and protection from the chilly New Englang October nights sounds pretty good. On the other hand, I love camping so we are really game to whatever. OUr goal is just to have a good time. -Don Diego- P.S. Pink will come nowhere near me.

Dsafanda- Heh, half of it isn't planning, it's rambling. I like to ramble. Anyways, I've only been to Rumney once myself... (went with the intent of wandering around aimlessly, but ended up mooching some gear and climbing a bit). ERr... don't listen to me PS- Don, we'll tie you down if that's what it takes to paint your nails pink [ This Message was edited by: juliana on 2002-08-26 12:05 ]

Hey dsafanda ... Rumney has multi-pitch climbs, but not that many. It also has a lot of trad climbing, which I hope to get into real soon. As for the length ... a lot of the harder sport routes probably would not be sent if it were multi-pitch ... at least not by me Rock On!

don and fawkes, I too would still be up for camping if jan can't take that many people. Definitly want to hang out with as many people as possible. jan, would there be room to pitch a tent at your place? Should be beautiful camping weather since Oct isn't that cold.

Most of the best routes at Rumney are 1-pitch sport, with a few longer climbs on the Main Cliff. It's not famous for its trad lines, although those do exist. Black Jack Crack (5.10) and Holderness School Corner (5.8) are two short trad classics. For full-on trad adventures, Cannon Cliff is half an hour to the north. Alpine granite up to 8 pitches or so, with real weather too. Classics include Lakeview (5.4), Whitney- Gilman Ridge (5.7), Moby Grape (5.8), Vertigo (5.9), VMC Direct Direct (5.10+), Labyrinth Wall (5.11) -- plus many shorter routes along the base. Edited so that your 5.8s don't show up as smileys. -Jules [ This Message was edited by: juliana on 2002-08-26 14:42 ]

Grant, I could probably keep rambling for page 200. Easily. Just don't expect me to talk much... I'm better at typing Uh, erhm, there was another reason I was gonna post but now I forget. Oh well, this will have to be good enough.

Jules, you should be ashamed of yourself trying to get between a budding friendship.....or male bonding...or an alliance.....orsomething like that. Do not understimate the power of the darkside (makes breathing sounds like Darth Vader). -Don Diego-
