Marbrown, I would also check out Upper Refuse. It is an easy to moderate climb with 4 pitches, but the exposure is really nice. I followed my buddy up it a couple of weeks ago and had a great time.. Something to think about. Also, Thin Air is a great climb as well. I have only followed these routes since I am learning trad climbing by following competent Trad Lead climbers. Enjoy!! See you in Rumney... (46) more till 1000! [ This Message was edited by: pamola on 2002-10-10 09:18 ]

Yeah, Upper Refuse too. I should've mentioned that. It's a little easier than thin air, and just as classic.

What crag are we planning on hitting Friday? Anyone know? Or shall we just wander aimlessly until we find something good?

I'm playing follow the leader as I don't have a guidebook. I think Lew had a couple of ideas...but he's probably being a productive member at work right now instead of paying attention to this thread. PRIORITIES MAN!!!

You should go to the Bonsai / Jimmy Cliff area Friday... they get really crowded on the weekend, and are awesome. Bonsai is steep, with cool stuff from 5.9 - 5.12. Jimmy cliff has a great 10a and an 8, and lots of other stuff too. For easier stuff the Meadows (near the paarking lot) or the left side of 5.8 crag (walk down Buffalo Rd. to the 5.8 crag sign) are good, but the Meadows is sharp. I made up a map of Rumney with a list of some of the great routes at each crag, but I won't be there until 3:00 or so on Friday.

Karen-- When do you plan on getting there?? We'll probably be leaving for Rumney shortly after Lew et al arrive... I'll leave the door unlocked for you. Do you have directions to Rumney so you could meet us there?

"Can you scan it...the map? " No hangerless, no access to scanner. I'll try to make one on the computer and send it to you, but I don't have much free time today between school and work. Jan
