Looks as if they are calling for rain Sunday. 60% chance ... who knows any thing about the Rock Barn ... is this a place where we can climb and have fun??? Do you know the price and hours they are open? THE WEEKEND IS ALMOST UPON US!!!!!!!!!

Like I said, you can totally climb in scattered showers. Unless we have a real rainstorm, I'm going to walk along the cliffs and find good, dry routes. Bonsai, for example, is never very wet. As for the rock barn, its owner Jim Shimberg seems like a good guy. I met him once climbing at the Meadows at Rumney... he borrowed our rope and a belay to run up a route and replace the anchors with good, stainless steel quick-clips. He's also the FAist of many routes there.

Just a last minute thing... I see that the weather is questionable for the weekend. For those that were camping and are interested in a dry roof... we have tons of floor space. We are about an hour from Rumney. As for the climbing, just my opinion but I think the schist is absolutely awesome, I would climb rain or shine. If anyone's interested in claiming floor space send me a pm.

It's a good thing for the environment that all this flagrant posting to reach 1000 wasn't at the cost of paper and trees And all done while I'm hard at work. Now I get home and everyones leaving. I HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED PACKING YET......AAAARGH!!! Now leave me alone while I pack because I really want to go to Rumney and I'm running out of time. One loooong day of work ahead, but at least a short ride. See Jan's side tomorrow night, everyone else, on the rock. I can't wait much longer. To those getting on the road, have a ton of fun(I'd much rather be on the road than at work) and a VERY safe trip. TD

Lew is online? Shouldn't you be picking the other Jackasses up from the airport? Oh well, the last time for me to check the topic. I'm off to work then NH bound. I fear however that with very little sleep last night that I may have to pull over to sleep en route tonight. /me wonders if anyone will be awake if I arrive at say after 3a.m. instead of 1a.m. And so begins the final day of waiting......

I'm going to work... I really shoud've just quit, as my last day has now moved up to Sunday anyway. But I'm working for friends that work for the utility, and I did make a "commitment". Have fun, and just remember... When you all are having a blast, I'll be kicking myself in the ass all weekend.

AAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!! WORK SUCKS!!! Quitting that sounds like a good idea.... Don't ever, ever get good at a crappy job. Work just called me (6:00am) - turns out some city is having a water crisis and they need someone to go and help them out. Guess who the lucky hero is? Does it matter that it's a long weekend; I have a packed van and a kick ass weekend of climbing planned? NOOOOO, of course not. The fact that some dumb-ass client is having problems and is about to run dry unless we (my company) send someone out to solve their problems is the only thing in the world that matters!! "C'mon Ken, get your priorities straight..." Unfortunately, I seem to have a particular aptitude for this kind of work. Like I said, quitting sounds like a good idea right about now.... maybe I'll paint my toenails in protest. Have an awesome weekend, take lots of pictures and climb safe. Hi Ho *&^%@#$ Hi Ho, A very grumpy Canadian. p.s. Sorry for the rant but I knew you'd understand.

Dude I can't wait to get up there. I gotta work Saturday but might make it up Saturday or Sunday. I'm so jealous that some people are on the road already. Yeah it sucsk for them that they have to drive a long-ass way (and I'll be whining about my 2-hour drive) but at least they dont have any work between now and rumney. it's gonna be a zoo this weekend, I can't wait. See y'all there! Drive safe. Jeremy
