Wow, gym rats, Old trads, sport climbers, and a few really dedicated boulderers all in the same gathering. I'm impressed. This is really shaping up to be a great weekend. It looks like we've got between 12 and 16 climbers coming from this site and quite a few are bringing others with them. I know that I'll have at least four others with me. Now I'm excited.

Anne, yep still have yet to get on real rock, at least since I've started climbing. I'm more stoked than ever now. If ya all want to know what gym levels I climb, it should be in my profile. Goatsoup, the meeting is at Rocktown/lostwall Georgia, Nov 29 - Dec. 1

I don't have my Dixie Craggers Atlas with me (at work), but don't they list one of the routes at Lost Wall as having poison ivy at the top? Was that the one you were on? See you on the rock

Remember though, just a few of us so far are going to be heading up turkey eve to secure the campsites. The real action begins Nov. 29th!

I'll probably be up there early on Friday. I usually wake up about 4:30 or 5:00. I'll bring fried bologna bisquits.

Well, so much for climbing today. Anne, those directions look good, though I doubt you really need help on getting to I-81 from your house I like the way it has you getting off I-75 onto US 27 that far north, since 27 runs right into Lafayette. Remember, go straight on 27 through the small downtown area of Lafayette and you will see the sign for 193 on the right just after that. After you turn right onto 193, you will go about go about 3 miles until you see Uncle Jed's store on the right. JUST PAST here, on the LEFT, will be Chamberlain Rd. Turn left on Chamberlain and go another 4 or so miles until you see a wooden sign on the right which reads "Crockford-Pigeon Wildlife Management Area". Turn right onto this dirt road, (and for god's sake, obey the speed limit!) Keep going, on past the ranger station, about 1/4 mile and you'll see several pulloffs on the left. Keep going to where you see a small dirt road style "bridge" with a culvert over a dry creek bed. The 2 sites on the right both just before and just after the culvert are the ones we are talking about. There are others as well for any overflow, though we may not have that problem. If you start to go up the hill and the switchbacks you have gone too far. Now, for parking, it will probably be best for everyone to use the numerous pulloffs on the left before the sites, and there is a good size one just before the campsites. Having a bunch of cars in the campsites will simply be a mess. The walk from any of these left pulloffs to the sites is quite short.
