Just want to keep this in people's minds. June 6-9th Little Cottonwood canyon, lots 'o' beer and pizza, lots 'o' fun, and maybe even some climbing. Bouldering, crack, TR, and a bit of multi pitch alpinism if you'd like. All are invited. Come and see what real rock climbing looks like.

OK, so LCC it is? I can't recall if anyone gave info on camping or what everone else will be doing for lodging, I would like to camp if its close to the climbing, also is anyone going to be there Thurs or Sun climbing? I'd like to do 3 days if possible (that is if i dont bring the whole crew). Les [ This Message was edited by: fo_d on 2002-02-19 16:26 ]

There are a number of camping sites in the canyon. I am going to reserve three or four sites all together so that anyone wanting to camp can do so. I will be climbing Thursday afternoon (as soon as I can sneak out of work).

Hey did you locals figure out a cool spot to meet, eat and drink when everyone gets to town on Thursday night? I haven't made a count of people going yet but it looks like 25-40 right now. Why don't we get something like the weekly vote thing to ask whether or not people are going. Kinda like this: Are you planning on attending the meeting in Utah this summer? Definetely O Most Likely O Undecided O No,I hate having FUN O Then we could get a better count of people. woodsE

How about a PM to either myself or ratstar with a number of people you are reporting for and the level of commitement you are making i.e. 5 people definitely, two people more than likely. We have quite a few possible places to meet for beer and pizza, live music, etc. A final decision has not been made. Also, will minors be attending, or is everybody over 21?

LD... I remember last Summer when Karen and I camped in LCC that each campsite had tentpads. We might want to get all the group sites in one of the campgrounds. Again, if you need funds, I'll send you $$$. I'm going to try to get free stuff to give away from advertisers and the site. I might even need a few users to help me evaluate some cams for a Product Review, if they're experienced Trad climbers. rrrADAM

Only one campsite?????? I think we may need a few more than that! Didn't I tell you guys I weigh about 456 lbs? I like to roll around in my sleep so I think you better get me 4 sites just so I don't squash anyone!!!!!!!!!! In all actuality I think we should have quite a few strategically located sites reserved so we can all hang out together. woodsE

There are two camp grounds in LCC, between those two grounds there was only one site not already reserved, I got it. It is a group site and should accomadate 18-24 individuals. We don't have a solid number of out-of-towners attending, and won't until they actually show up, so this is the best that can be done. We are flexible and there will be room for everybody that comes.

Beer is not that restricted in UT, except for that you can only by stuff of less than 3.2% alchohol outside of liquor stores. Good beer is heavily taxed and WAY expensive. If you want to risk a small ticket, you may want to bring in some good beer from CO.

I have reserved a group camp site for those wanting to camp. It is in LCC. There was only one site available that weekend, but it is big. We will meet Thursday nite at the Porcupine Grill for good eats and brew. It is right in the mouth of Big Cottonwood, and very easy to find.

Are we still planning on hitting a couple different areas that weekend? If possible I would like to do LCC one day AF the next and maybe BCC on Sunday before taking off. What is the distance between all of these...and for all of those planning on bringing their dogs we need to figure out a dog sitting location! woodsE

Big and little cottonwood canyons are 5-10 minutes apart, and American Fork is about 30 minutes from Little Cottonwood. As for Dogs, I don't have a good answer. Ben

Ok here is my suggested plan. The first day we head out to LCC (little cottonwood canyon) for bouldering and trad. Second day will be AFC (american fork canyon) for sport. And anyone who wants can join us on the third day for BCC (big cottonwood Canyon. If anyone wants to change this plan or suggest their own please post it and everyone will check it out.
