I have been looking for a high pro. shoe like the Anasazi. But I can't get the heel to fit me. So if you can give me some shoe that would be good. I wish the RC.com reviews where up.

Have you looked at the Boreal Zen. Very similar and and I'm told that they perform good. I don't speak from experience here but just making a suggestion as you asked.

I also would like a pair of those shoes, but they don't come in size 15. The only shoes I could find in a 15 were the Five Ten Newtons and I think the Spires or something like that.

If the heel-cup on the anisazi's didn't fit you then the zen probably won't fit either. Look into a shoe called the La Sportiva Mistral, it should fit your heel. And if they don't then buy anisazi's, the velcro will keep the heel from popping off, and anyways, you only spend like .02% of your time climbing on your heels.

I had a fit problem with the Anasazi as well and I moved into the Boreal Zen. I haven't had any heel problems. In fact I think it's a great shoe.

For a long time I avoided 5.10 because of the baggy heels. During a fiscal crisis I broke down and bought a set of Anasazi 2nds at the PBC and have never gone back. They are, bar none, the best shoes I have ever owned (and I am the Imelda Marcos of climbing shoes). Just remember, they have an asymetric last and fit "hooked" feet better. Traddad

I love how my heel fits in the anasazis. Maybe I have an odd shaped heel or something. The boreals are nice too.

I found the heel of the Zen to be baggy, and the Anasazi to be great, but obviously everyone is different. A company from Spain, Tenaya, has a shoe that is excellent for those who do fit the Anasazi: the Scratch. Check www.barrabes.com; the shoe is $49.95 US, with about $12 shipping, and I got 'em in 3 days! Another shoe to check would be the Mistral from La Sportiva. I've read that they have an unusually high amount of stretch, though, so be warned.

I've only seen the X-ray on European websites, and it describes it as a beginners' shoe. Is that an incorrect description?

I loved the look of the Anasazi and it was highly recomended. It didn't fit my heel also and I chose the LaSpotiva Mistral. I'm very happy with them.

Boreal Pyros. There shape like the Anasazi Velcros , stiff like the Muira and the heel fits pretty well, at least for my foot.

Other shoes besides the Five Ten Anasazi that are great for high performance (hard sport, bouldering, trad) would be the Red Chili line: the Dos Equis, the Toro, the Habanero or the Vodoo as well as the Mistral by La Sportiva. Check 'em out.

I also have the same problem, my heel won't fit into the anasazis. I have a very narrow foot with a high arch and it seems there isn't a slipper out there that fits my foot- at least I haven't found it yet. Has anyone tried the 5.10 V10's?

The Boreal Zen is quite similar to the Velcro Anasazis, but it IS different in the heel. My Anasazis do tend to "pooch" out on the sides of my heels (but it doesn't bother me or seem to affect performance) and the Zens have a...how should I put it...kind of narrower, not narrow per se but they have less material on the SIDES of the heel cup. Another shoe to look at in addition to the ones listed by the folks above is the LaSportiva Katana. Good luck.
