This doesn't compare with the deal my friend caught but its a good deal. I found a pair of climbing shoes on ebay for 15 bucks. Noone wanted em cause they were size 5s. But the are called maroques or something like that. They aren't exactly what sharma would wear, but they beat tennis shoes. Ever seen those one tents that just go around your sleeping bag that are water proof and insulate 15 more degrees of heat? They usually sell for $150 when my friends brother was lookin for one. He went into a sports store and found one. When he saw the price tag it said $1.50. They moved the deciamal over 2 spots by accident, and It turns out the stores policy is if the item is marked cheaper than it is, its the price you get. He basically paid 1.50 for a 150 tent. That would be sweet. and I would laugh in there stupid faces. So whats your greatest deal landing and was it worth it?

hey rrradam. what I'm about to ask is not a stupid question not carring what the response is. I want you to think about this. Here you are with a full rack and me with my top-rope set up only. Would you consider giving those cams to me PLEEAASE? If you are not going to give them to me then Give me 20 dollars so I'll know for sure. PM me for my addresss. How much is shipping from where you are? And oh yes, next time they say, "Here, have a set of cams to write a review, send them to me. I write at a 37th grade level, (when I try).

No offense bud... But can you do an effective gear review ??? Your post asking if duct tape will keep a cam from walking leads me to believe that you don't lead Trad. As it would be very difficult to tear off a piece of tape, and place it while free climbing. And why would I send you $20 ??? I have plenty of rope that I don't lead on anymore, and will gladly send it to you, if you pay for shipping. rrrADAM

rrradam, maybe if you sent rockjock a roll of tape and let him keep it, he might write a performance review. Could make good reading. Ok, my best gear deal. We have a classified magazine here called "Buy, sell & exchange. From that I got six new cams, a set of almost new RP's, and three little hexes for NZ$60. Replacment cost would be $600 to $700

Not a spectacular deal, but when I buy biners, I buy in bulk.... Go to my local shop, and if I buy ten or more, he'll usually toss in two free biners, a dog-bone, or similar item. As mentioned, not a killer deal, but I'm not turning it down. Ciao, JRB

I got a pair of La Sportiva Kaukulators for $74.95. I got a pair of Reebok Transnder climbing shoes for $29.95! I also got a pair of 5.10 Echo's (hiking boots) for $24 bucks and change, and since there was a shipping snafu, shipping was free! I got all three pairs from sierratradingpost.com, check 'em out, you'll stumble on to some phenominal deal... on something! Jeff [ This Message was edited by: krustyklimber on 2002-03-13 22:08 ]

Some asshole scored a great deal at our local climbing shop Adventure Exposed when he/she heisted a brand spanking new flexi friend off the showroom floor where it was displayed with some other gear. He got a near R600m ($60) friend absolutely free. What a deal...hope he/she remembers it when he/she FRIES IN HELL!!! The shop is small and the whole climbing community here is like one big family with the shop our home away from home. The owner, Johan, will do anything for us anytime, that's why my feathers are so ruffled about it... breathe stone R C

While cleaning out the warehouse at REI when I worked there, I found 6 Friends that were buried under all kinds of crap. When I scanned them through the register they rang up at $.09 . You better believe I paid for them with the change in my wallet.

Well to pick just one of the great deals i have gotten in the past few years, the best has to be the Sunto altimeter watch for $20 (retail $200) at and rei return item sale. The problem with it was that it was missing the band screw, so with 10 dollars for the repalcement kit i fixed it up and i have been using it year round for 2 years. -Rock Freek

Artm, I just paid $150 including tax and free shipping for the same rope, PMI 10.5mm X 60m bi-pattern. I know it's not an awesome deal, but I figure it was pretty good price for it. Dang I hate you now! Where did you get that? BTW, I work in Huntington Beach, is there some store around here I don't know about? I always try to buy gear at REI so I get my dividend.
