Hey I know there are some Threads about climbing possibilities in Fiji. But some are old and maybe there are new informations about that. So I am a German guy on a roundtrip and I am going to the Fijis for two weeks. I would like to Boulder or do Deep Water soloring. Maybe anyone knows a local-guy who can show me some spots. And pls no comments like "Ey bro fuck climbing go surfing or relax....." Post something useful or leave it ;)

Most of the rocks in Fiji are just not suitable for climbing. Around Lautoka there is supposed to be some good stuff, but I lived on Vanua Levu (in Savusavu) for a couple of years and never climbed anything but my woody in the time I was there. You get teased by these sheer rock faces, but it's all "rotten rock" that crumbles and is total choss. There are lots of places where the old coral walls overhang the water and they are technically climbable but they are sharp, brittle and prone to breakage. I could never get more than a move off the ground before visions of mangled fingers made me retreat. Good luck!
