Just trying to get a discussion going here... Crack Climbing Treadwall. I'm not sure there is such a thing, but it'd sure be nice to at least have access to one if or when one is invented. What're you're thoughts and ideas? I have a rough concept in mind. Think of 2 treadmills stood up vertically next to each other. Adjusting the spacing between the 2 adjusts for the crack width. With the resistance operation from the treadwall, a concept like that would be climbable don't you think?

holy shit haha Sounds like a tragedy waiting to happen. that said, make sure the camera is rolling. Why not just build a crack machine and downclimb??? Are you really interested in doing vertical cracks?

Would not be my thing - I'm happy with a regular crack machine. But my suggestion for how to make it work would be to use a regular treadwall, and put crack holds on it. A few examples:

^ why not just go cheaper route and put sections of 2x6 like a crack machine? Sectioned so it can go over the treads (however small does that have to be?)
