Buy? There's a choice? Last printed guidebook to my home crag was written in, from what I can tell, 2001 and has been out of print and unavailable as long as I've been climbing (which is about 7 years, now). There's a PDF findable a few places that most people use. My close to home crag, Montagne d'Argent, has a small printed guide that they distsribute. Pictures and route names, no descriptions. It is available from a few local stores, and at the crag. But, I can definitely understand the collection guidebooks thing. I've got books for places I've been, places I hope to go, and ones that have just randomly appeared in my life, one way or another.
