Three serious single car injuries on the way home from the crag in the last month. Two of which resulted in death.

Climb and DRIVE carefully folks!!

My sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Kirk. Yet another very sad loss.

shit... we lose another great climber, this year is getting worse.

I ran into Kirk quite a bit when I lived in TX; in Mexico (we drunkedly shot bottle rockets at New Years Eve revelers one year), when he was guiding at E-rock, a friend and I even showed him around Paradise on the Brazos when he was psyched to put some routes up there.

RIP.

This is very sad news. Kirk was a great person and one of the original Potrero Chico pioneers. Tami and I send our condolences to his family and numerous friends.

Damn. Kirk took me down to Potrero for the first time back when I was going to UT. It was a helluva trip, to say the least. I remember I was belaying him on the last pitch of 'Stroking the Bishop'. He pulled up rope to clip the anchors and the hold he was hanging on broke. He took a huge whipper. When I lowered him down he said when he flew past the first 3 bolts he wasn't to worried, but when he got to the 4th bolt he was starting to get concerned. I got banged up worse catching him then he did in the fall.. .

RIP Kirk.
