sorry for your loss erin.......being that close to someone and losing them is always hard......i've never laid eyes on daryn but ive come to appriciate him as a fixture in this weird little community...my thoughts r with you and his family/friends

The closest I ever worked out was it's an anagram of "my fingers stink" or something.
I once had a wee chat with him about if Sty Mingersfink was his real name, and since it "was" where the last name Mingersfink came from, he said he didn't know and we talked about it for a bit.
I'm sure that he was, as usual, laughing all along at his tricksy but harmless joke - I mean, who would believe that's a real name?

I've read this thread as it's developed over the last few days and I still find it hard to come to terms with the fact that a core member of this community is now gone. Daryn, whose name I never knew until his tragic passing, was one of those guys you could always count on for a good laugh, and often a good insight too. It's weird to feel such a loss for someone I've never met, but his personality on these boards was one of the things that defined the atmosphere of RC.com.
I can only imagine how terribly this has affected those who had the good fortune to have known Daryn outside the confines of this little internet club, but I do know that he will be sorely missed around here.
