I did not know Ed, but many people that I do know loved him. I hear he was a great guy, and there is no doubt of his accomplishment and commitment to his passion for climbing. Didn't agree much with some of the things he did at The Potrero but he did put in time and energy in what he thought would make the place better for climbers. Have sat at the table with him to have a beer and talk climbing so I knew him somewhat, not well but knew him. Ed will be missed for many reasons but I'm surprised I haven't heard anything here. So long Ed! Damn, this is the first I've heard of it. RIP Magic Ed. You put your heart and soul into that place and it shows.
