Are these blisters on your feet? The best thing that you can do is not to get them. When you start feeling a hot spot, stop and take off your shoes and let your feet cool down. There is a product called tincture of benzine that is a real sticky liquid that will form kind of a hard barrier when you start feeling a hot spot. Once you have a blister you can use moleskin to protect it by cutting the moleskin in the shape of a washer around the blister. This will keep the shoe/sock off of the blister. Still the best thing that you can do is prevent them. If you are getting them all the time then you should consider a better fitting pair of shoes. I rowed a few year ago, and in case you didnt know, it gives terrible blisters, particularly on your hands. Other rowers said you dip your hands in metho (methalated spirits), ive never heard of the tobasco sauce one, but it sounds interesting.

Mmm, the theory behind the tabasco and metho is I think the skin both gets cleaned (burned more like) and it reacts with the fluid inside the blister causing it to become neutral. And also the skin tightens as the muscles contracts because of the pain. (I think, I could just be pulling this out of my ass)
