I live in Salem and can't for the life of me find these boulders. I've looked all over and asked everybody who's ever climbed in the area and can't find any info. They're mythical in my opinion but if anyone finds them let me know.

I spent my high school years in Salem, OR and I never came across these boulders... However I use to boulder at "The Grip" which is the 12-15 foot tall retaining wall next to the rail lines off River Road (if you are driving from S. Salem towards the center on River Road there is a parking spot to the right just as the round turns right away from Minto Brown park...the wall is to your left next to the railway trackes) I use to have some trouble with cops and railroad workers but discretion is advised and i would avoid topping out onto the road to minimize the attention you draw. It is crappy (literally since often some hobos would go to the bathroom at the base) but is something to play on. I havent climbed there in 8 years so I dont know what it is like now. Let me know if this helps and if there is some boulders I am interested....coming back to Salem to see the parents in two weeks. Cheers Andrzej

Someone made an addition to route data base, as such: http://www.rockclimbing.com/routes/listArea.php?AreaID=8611 The area really isnt in Salem though and there really isn't that many problems. You should go to the Garden in Sweet Home, much more problems with higher grades, also there is a lot of room for development.

Eastgate Park is a bust. I've been there and there's nothing but swings and baseball fields. There was supposed to be an artificial boulder according to "Rock n' Road" but I haven't seen anything like it.

Rock junkie is right. Go to that website that kingsmm has and it has directions on how to get to them. If you have any problems you could probably PM kingsmm.
