Thinnest Static Rap Line

Been climbing a number of years, looking into how thin of a static line I can rap on for some solo mountaineering objectives. Not planning on putting this through a lot of use, or even doing free hanging raps on it. Obviously care needs to be taken to avoid rub and sharp corners with such a thin line, as well as using a device capable of having enough friction for a thin line. I have a 60m 6mm accessory cord line I'm wondering if it's ok to rap on (double strand) thoughts? I've heard of folks using thinner but wasn't sure what was standard or accepted by the masses.

Cheers!

I wouldn't recommend anything thinner than 8mm.

I wouldn't rap on a 6mm. An 8mm is plenty strong, the hard part is getting your partners to share that belief:-)

I have a 5/16 (8.5mm) x 300' New England KMIII Static Rope still in the spool in the box I'd part with for ($140 plus $20 shipping to the US or Portland Or face to face) which I haven't used. (bought 2, only needed one as it turned out) Strength is 20 kilonewtons and although statics are less likely to cut than a regular kernmantel due to the construction, it can be mentally harrowing jugging an overhang on this skinny thing wondering if the edge 300 feet up and out of sight is doing OK.
