Seems to be a "semi-weekly" regular thing here.

This time Robert, Brian, Karen, Yadi (girl from my gym), and myself climbed under a full moon at the park...

Robert & Brian started off with SW Corner then the multi pitch Walk On The Wild Side, then headed over to meet us in Real Hidden Valley, after going to Echo Cove. (Yep... I changed plans, but they saw my Pathfinder, and found us. )

Karen, Yadi, and I warmed up on the first pitch of Ball Bearing 5.10a, then headed around Sentinal Rock to do Illusion Dweller 5.10b. I lead, Yadi cleaned up to the roof where she pumped out, as it's 120' of crack climbing. Robert took a lap, got a clean ascent, and cleaned it.

We all headed over to Thin Wall to finish the night. I lead No Calculators Allowed 5.10a to set up a TR, Karen cleaned it. Also set up a TR on Child's Play 5.10d & Congradulations 5.11a, for Robert and I to finish up on.

BTW... Flake stayed in the Pathfinder, as he's a little "toobigtoclimb".

Adam,

Man, "No Calcs Allowed" isn't good enough for the number of times you've done it, or the number of times you've reported doing it.
Don't get me wrong, it an OK route, but its a big park!

Do a night out over by Hall of Horrors or something, Lazy Days, Dog Day Afternoon, Nurn's Romp, Exorcist, and then play on Jane's Addiction! That laybacky thing to the face climb left of Nurn's would be fun at night.

Anything but that NCA dude, you can do it, cold turkey, no repeats for as long as you can!

Cheers,

Murf

That area is on my night time hit list Murf.

Lazy Day, etc. then over for some TR action on Buckets to Burbank, Ledges to Lawndale, etc.

Next full moon

Toobig,

There's a good .10a face climb right next to LD, whose name escapes me ( something "Flower", nah ).

Nurn's Romp ( 5.8 ) is pretty classic after an awkward start. Better than those west face TR's. The .10a/b left of Nurn's ( powerful layback to face.. arrghhh, senility sucks, can't remember name ). It goes up to a shared anchor for 3-4 routes. You can also get to the anchor via a 5.7/5.8.

Wow, I must not have my Josh cap on yet, I could hardly remember "Hall of Horrors"!

Cheers,

Murf

Sorry!

Not trying to sandbag ( yet! ), I just couldn't remember the name. Although Garden Angel does seem a bit cheeky for .10a...

Murf

Noticed that you LD name right, which I didn't. *sigh* I must need a memory supplement or something.

hehe .. did you mean echinacea?? A TEXAS prairie flower??? *big ol grin* .. hehehe. ..

/me whips out her herbal nerdiness ..

.. it's actually best known for its immune enhancing ability .. goes best with vit c, as they help the others' absorption ...

.. *cough* .. great for colds and allergies and such .. *cough cough sneeze* .. better than excessive nyquil .. .. but anyways ..

Here's some herbs to help the memory ..

Ginkgo. A tree which has existed for millions of years, and which has been used since ancient times for its ability to improve memory and concentration. Clinical studies have used Ginkgo to address cerebral insufficiency, which often affects an individual with absent mindedness, poor memory, lack of concentration, decreased physical performance, etc., Ginkgo has also been studied for its ability to change positively age-related memory impairment.

Siberian Ginseng. Used to support the immune system and assist the body in dealing with stress. When taken in combination with Ginkgo it enhances the benefits that Ginkgo offers.

Ginger. Has the ability to improve the circulation and to support the central nervous system. It acts as a catalyst herb for other herbs which are more specific in addressing memory and concentration. Helping them to do their work more effectively.

Now then .. did you say that the belay was on?? 'cause I'm a climbing.

Climb On!

PS: Still *jealous* about night climbing at Joshua every Thursday .. .. ppffftt

... and yes, I'm still stalking you, brian ..

Thanx for the beta 'murf', but I like to climb withing the ability of those I take climbing with me. Don't want to watch my friends flail. Want everyone to have a good time, ya know.

Maybe you should come out with me one of these nights and I can take you up "Roller Ball". Or even better, you can take me on some hard lines.

Adam,

I can understand taking care of the other folks, but there must be another formation w/ a .10a, a .10d TR, and a .11a TR. I mean its Josh right?

Thanks for the invite, but my schedule doesn't permit night climbing. Enjoy Rollerball, that will be fun at night.

Cheers,

Murf

I take climbers to where they will have fun.

Even if they're "toobigtoclimb".
