We have been trying to get out of the indoor gym a little bit and go out to John Bryan which is the closest place. Here are just a few pics of us trying some of the lower level (5.6-5.8) routes and dream of training enough to move up to some of the harder routes out there For anyone that goes out to John Bryan, or hasn't in a while, they no longer require you to check in before climbing or have a limit on the number of climbers on a particular route (although we have yet to see someone else out there in the half dozen times we've been out in the past month)
I know it's nothing crazy, but I just thought I'd share our most recent trip out to John Bryan. We're looking to mess around here a little bit more and then try to get out to red river gorge whenever we feel a little more ready

Recognize you and your friends from climbing at the Urban Krag, i'm usually there a few days a week with my fiance climbing. John Bryan might not be the best but can't really complain being Ohio climbing. I know of some bouldering in the area with open access that has similar rock as John Bryan ranging from V-easy to potentially V3/4 highballs , area barely developed. Would be interested in taking a trip out to John Bryan if you guys are going again any time soon, my previous climbing partner moved away to school and haven't gotten outdoors much since besides boldering now and again on weekends and that gets old (and seems to have killed my endurance). PM me about it or i'll talk to you if I see you at the gym Also pretty awsome the park finally relaxed it's climbing rules as i've never seen anyone else there the times I has went |
