I just started climbing a little less than a month ago and love it! I have purchased a lot of my gear, yet I still am needing more suggestions. Being a beginner, here is my full setup as of now (hopefully this helps any beginners);

Scarpa Helix Rock Shoes (women's)- From a beginners perspective, I tried on a lot of shoes and I finally decided to purchase these, as they are the most comfortable. I wanted my toes to touch the end and all of the others were incredibly painful.

Mammut Ophira Harness- no complaints, comfortable to hang in, light weight

Black Diamond ATC-Guide Belay Device- honestly haven't really used it yet, I'm in the process of learning on it though.

Pretzl William Screw-Gate Carabiner

Arc'teryx C-40 Chalk Bag- the enclosure on the bag is really nice!

I'm using a chalk ball right now, primarily because I don't trust myself with loose chalk just yet.

I'll probably need a helmet and crash pad for when I go bouldering.. Any suggestions? Are helmets really that big of a deal for bouldering, I know for sport climbing they are?
