Hello Chilean, expats, travellers,
I am looking to head from north to south chile to climb and explore the country. I haven't done such a trip before. I am looking to meet up with local climbings to hang and definitely climbing. I will climb as much as i can.
I am experienced in sport climbing, i can lead a 5.10. I enjoy bouldering and would like to learn trad.
I am thinking of staying in San Pedro de Atacama (to climb at Socaire), then to Santiago then to Cochamo.
Any comments, hellos, suggestions?

Hey! I will also be traveling thru Chile in November-December along a similar route and am hoping to find some places to climb. I am a beginner but can do most 5.8s and 5.9s, and occassionally a 5.10. I would love to learn trad climbing and would like to become lead-certified. Hello Chad!
Finally! Somebody awesome enough to reply.
I will be arriving in in San Pedro de Atacama around Nov 1, 2014. I am planning to stay there for 1.5 month. Seems to be more than climbing going on, but i would love to climb all the time if i can. If you are going to be in San Pedro de Atacama then lets improve our climbing skill together.

After reading the description of Socaire, it's now a must for me! A friend and I will be backpacking and we just decided to head to San Pedro de Atacama. Not exactly sure the date we will be there but I think it will be the first or second week in November so that would work out great! I'll PM you once I know more. Looking forword to it!
