Gotta be Shelf Road, Colorado! It's a strong sport climber's meca! Bombproof pocketed limestone; short, steep routes, and some 1,000+ routes with only 4 (that I know of, although I'm sure there are a few more) under 5.10. Mick [ This Message was edited by: rck_climber on 2001-09-07 20:38 ]

Clear Creek Canyon, Colorado Kurt Smith once called it "the most overlooked hard climbing destination on the front range" there are tons of 12s and 13s out here and potential for soooooo many more.

I would have to be partial to my back yard. SMITH ROCK!! Just check out the guide book. You have Chain Reaction 12c, To Bolt or Not to Bolt 14a, Go Dog Go 12c, and then one of the most photographed rocks in the world Monkey Face. To top it all off, it is great to climb in the winter. Check out smithrock.com. So you know where my vote is. Brogan

Since i live in utah, i'd have to go with: American Fork Maple Canyon Rifle Smith Sinks For 12's and 13's, The Cottonwood's are a little lacking...

Since I haven't got out west for climbing I'm limited to my say in this but for my neck of the woods the best climbing period can be found at Red River Gorge, KY. If you like overhangs you can find an overhang called Half Moon totally overhanging and it has to be about 120ft tall. Damn it looks crazy...

In the southeast it would have to be Foster Falls, TN just outside of Chattanooga. There are about 120 routes with less than ten below the 5.10 level and going up to 5.14a all bolted and well maintained

Need to change my vote..... Rifle Canyon, Colorado: has to be the largest collection of really hard climbs I've ever seen. Numerous 14's and a bucket-full of 13's. Truly amazing place. Mick
