You can get back. I got married and stopped climbing, largely due to other issues (moving away from my climbing partners, and climbing related stuff that I don't feel like retelling). 9 years later, I'm soooo back into climbing.
Dave's advice is good, though. Make sure it's all out in the open, and even then, people change or think they're ok with something then realize they aren't.. Good luck. :)
