Just starting a thread to see how many people are interested in gathering at Enchanted Rock during the Christmas season for some fun and climbing. Looking at the week after Christmas ( 26 Dec - 2 Jan) for those that are interested. Plenty of time to put this together if there is enough interest and would like to see as many of the Texas climbers as possible make it. Climb On

The Granite Gripper is going to be pretty big this year. They are offering it up as a bit of a Texas climber reunion this year. No more catering at the pavillion for the food, it's all going to be a potluck. Should be pretty fun. I think it's in November.

As far as the Granite Gripper I plan to be at that as well but would like to try and get a group together during the Xmas break. Let me know if you are interested in that as well. Climb On

Well, Hueco Tanks would be a full days drive from E-Rock. Have to look at the timing of it.

In reply to: i am there!!! already have a plane ticket Wow. Cool to see interest in this outside of Texas. I won't be able to make it, since we will be gone by then. Have fun anne. And instead of Hueco you might consider a road trip to Potrero Chico Mexico instead. It's a mere 6 hour drive. November is a good time to visit.

Well, I'd love to hang with some E-rock climbers who can show me around down there (I usually climb in Oklahoma, only been to E-rock a couple times), but that week is kinda doubtful for me. If I'm not back home in Seattle for the holidays, I'm thinking about going to Ouray. So, if all that falls through I might be there. January would be better for me though.

E-rock rules. Not sure about the week after christmas, as that is usually like Potrero, Hueco, or even Indian Creek for me, but we'll see. by the way, I'm working on my crack circuit of stuff for the Granite Gripper, and will be down at E rock this weekend. if anyone is interested in meeting up gimme a PM, or look for a couple dudes in a jeep that are lugging bouldering pads to the base of trad climbs.

coach- I'm certainly interested- can never get too much of E-rock. I'll e-mail my 50 closest friends too. :) Where would you propose everyone to stay? The car camping sites in the park usually seem to get full months in advance. Lady Bird of course is an option as well but you pay per tent. (Anyone know where I can get a tent that sleeps 30? 8)) hugepedro- I'm always happy to have more people to go to E-rock with. Its looking like a small group of us in Houston will be going to Ouray this year (after the festival) if your plans don't work out. camhead- hate to ask obvious dumb questions, but just curious of what you've got in mind for mixing bouldering pads and trad climbs... what's the story?

I'm in Dallas and always up for hitting the rocks. I don't know about those dates, and won't know til we get closer, but sounds pretty good to me. PM me about hooking up to climb in the near future (goes to anyone in the greater Dallas area). I have tentative plans with someone this weekend, and possibly next, but PM me to talk about coming along or future dates, whatever. Climbing keeps me sane.

Paul, I've been known to lug a crash pad along with my rack. Great to lie around on while waiting and you never know when something looks good that you don't feel like roping up on. I'm actually off work from 12 Dec until 3 Jan so anytime during that time that anyone wants to hook up for E-Rock, Reimers or Barton Creek just give a holler. Climb On

I've been thinking about that. Might just work out and I have a place to stay and a belayer. I'll give this some serious thought.
