Does anybody thinks that the $99 Daragons are a result of the new Madrock releases? And about the MRs, what do you guys think the toe shape is in the frenzy ($79)? If you own a downturned-toe shoe like the Dragon, how has it worked for vertical routes? Do you think the Loco ($89) looks promising?

I think the $99 Dragons are the result of a close out....from what I hear, the Dragons weren't selling too well for 5.10 so they're discontinuing them. Check out the 5.10 website. They're no longer a listed product. The V10s seem to have dominated thier "uber curved crazy shoe for overhangs" market.

The Dragons are a niche shoe. They work like a dream on steeps, but suck on anything less.

If buying dragons, I would SERIOUSLY recommend trying them on somewhere first. The sizing on them is HORRIBLE! Worse than even other 5.10 products. I have a pair that are marked 10 1/2, which are about 1/4"-1/2" shorter than my size 8 in other shoes and about a full inch shorter than my newtons which are size 9. They also have a very narrow toe box.
