It's payday and I'm craving gear. I Gotta get to my local dealer and hookup before I go into withdrawls and get DT's AKA "sewing machine leg". My rack is still a little light for micro crack pro.

GearXpress says "recommened for aid only" re: HB offsets. I have seen a lot of other posts at RC.COM that discuss them as good pro. The strength of the #3 offset is still 6 kn. Are offsets good free climbing pro.? What are the pros and cons of offsets for free climbing gear? Yeah, this is my my first post.

*Smith Rock* Labor Day weekend through Wed. YEAH!! :D

I love my offsets and have used them for free climbing for 15 years. No prob. They're just as strong as anything else in their particular size range. 6kN is 1 kN more than a cam needs to be to pass CE specs. Use the Offsets in conjunction with Rocks, Sentinels or whatever and you'll have the nuts end of things covered. BTW, I love the luminum ones as well. They rule in flaring granite cracks.

I trust the larger sizes, and add a screamer to the smaller ones if it looks like I would take a massive whipper should it blow.

I just heard about offsets in time for HB to go out of business! I took a class and the whole time the instructor raved about how well they worked in NH granite. However, I read somewhere that DMM will be manufacturing them soon.

I love my offsets for free climbing. Sometimes they work where nothing else will.

I saw that HB was not making these anymore and I spied a set at my local gear shop. I'm going to get them at lunch today. Good idea RE: use of a screamer on the smaller offsets. Thanks.
