Some friends and I are looking to come down to the New for some climbing over spring break which would be mid March. I was wondering if any one had beta on the climbing there in March. Temps? Rain? Seepage? Any help is appreciated, thanks. -Erik

Hope for good climbing weather but be prepared for the worst. Be certain that you bring your rain gear and maybe some tarps to setup at camp. There are many places to camp around the gorge that are free. My favorite campground is called Stone Cliff, its 20 minutes from the bridge. Kind of far but the scenery is worth it. As far as the climbing goes... I have climbed several times at the NEW during the winter. It is all about staying in the sun! Be sure to get a guidebook if you don't have one already. If it rains you might run into some seepage but for the most part this is never a problem. At the last NEW River Rondezousouseuouzesz it poured for days, then the comp day came around and sure enough it was dry(the cracks i climbed). The NEW is one of my favorite places to climb... have a great time! (i'm going to the RED)
