Well I'm not sure which ones you mean, and if the pair that I have is improved or unimproved, but I like them they feel pretty good on the feet.

I got 'em and Diggin' 'em BIG TIME! They're great for a low volume foot with a narrow heel...which translates into: The fit me like a glove...very nice indeed.

Although I don't own or use the Mojave myself, I can tell you it is a very good shoe. I worked at a climbing shop for a long time and I'm familiar with almost all shoes. I sold ALOT of Mojaves to climbers. It's a great shoe for beginners and intermediate climbers. It is basically the same shoe as Five Ten's Spire, but it has an assymetrical toe box with a bit of point to it (better for pockets and edging). I would almost always sell these to people who thought they wanted the Spires (cause they were only listening to their wallets). For the additional $10 dollars you get a WAY better performing shoe if you are doing ANY amount of face climbing. The Spires will work fine if you just do cracks or friction slabs, but the Mojaves are better suited for the edges and pockets of most sport routes and ALL gym climbs. Just a more all around better shoe than the Spires. Assuming the usuals (i.e. they actually fit your foot shape well), I would describe them as a shoe similar to a Lace Up Anasazi, but geared toward the beginner/intermediate climber. The "improvement" that was made to them is merely an extra reinforcement piece sewn onto each side of the shoe. This piece does two things: slightly limits the stretching of the shoe and it also reinforces the eyelets the lace runs through. Hope that helps out. Any more questions, just let me know. Cheers.
