I just got an email about a slide show benefitting HERA - a climber-run non-profit that raises money and awareness for ovarian cancer. Is anyone else on the front range going? New Zealander and UIAGM guide Anna Keeling will be doing a slide show on mountaineering in New Zealand at Trail Ridge Outfitters, Estes Park, CO, on Wednesday, October 13, at 7 p.m. and at Neptune Mountaineering, Boulder, CO, on Thursday, October 14 at 8 p.m. There will also be a showing of the 20-minute HERA Foundation video, and proceeds from a silent auction will go to HERA. The show and silent auction are sponsored by She Sends, the only magazine celebrating women climbers, and by Trail Ridge Outfitters. Each participant will receive a free copy of She Sends (worth $3.95). The entry fee is $5. Please call Chris Banks for more information at 970-586-4595, or email Gretchen Holzheimer at events@shesends.com.

In reply to: btw. here's an article about Anna - pretty cool stuff. i definitely feel inspired. Nice bio as well on the Exum website. "She recently began racing again, and this fall she won an event in the Wasatch Mountains, beating all the other entrants, who were all male." I wonder what race that was. Anyone know? Be rare to win head-to-head with the boyz here, but, maybe on a mixed team er something. Run into her here and in the Tetons from time to time...always a riotious good time. She's a character. Darn good climber too. Brian in SLC
