Hey all, been climbing on and off for a few years now, unfortunately, not much to climb where I am in Peterborough. I am returning to London in a few weeks and if anyone around that area climbs, please drop me a line because I would love to get some climbing in once I get back.

Good to hear, have you been to Spikes? Whats it like? I'm back there in a week for (at least) the next three years. If you're ever interested in going for a climb, I'll gladly be your partner if you need one.

Well, i do most of my climbing at Intencity (East Park). Spikes has crappy runs, they are just striaght up. Intencity has good routes. I am pretty much goin to go there as much as I can. Try and go atleast once a week. I am up for it if you ever want to go climbing. I only know one other person who climbs and hes my good friend. but now my gf is climbing with me too. but hey, if you ever want a partner, i am up for it. PM if you want more deatils on how to get a hold of me. [ This Message was edited by: djnibs on 2002-08-17 20:33 ]

Hey all, I am not from London but am close by in Tillsonburg. London doesn't really have much to offer climbing wise. Spike's sucks in my opinion (had a bad experience with a staff member their-real bitch) and East Park is very small. My buddy and I usually go to Higher Ground in Kitchener, much bigger and friendlier staff. The atmoshpere there is really laid back as well. I know the convenience of having a wall close by but if you have a car, you should make a trip to Sports World in Kitchener. We usually climb on Monday nights. Feel free to PM me if your interested in going to Higher Ground and require more info. Dave

I frequent Higher Ground. If you need a belayer PM me. Lots of different style routes. Some of the overhang routes tend to be real power moves - always see people stomping their way up. I sometimes hit Spikes too. It is fun for some variety. The routes are straight up, but challenging and fun. Never been to Intensity. Is that in London? Re that chick at Spikes - I think I know the one you mean...

They climb near me in Oakville. Poor buggers. The only place worse to live than London would be Chatham. Or maybe Nebreska.

I'm looking for a climbing partner in London. I just started climbing and I'm totally hooked!!! Right now I climb mainly at Spikes but can also make it to Intencity (at EastPark), and perhaps even an occasional trip to Higher Ground in Kitchener. I have my belaying certification. I can climb on evening and weekends. Email me if you need e belaying partner!

Hi, I'm new to the London area as well and I'm looking for someone to climb with. I've not been to either of the gyms here yet, but I'm anxious to check them out. Also, Kitchener isn't out of the question as I have a car.

just wondering what the london climbing scene is like, I'm moving there from burlington in a couple weeks. Is this intencity at east park golf gardens still the place to go? it seems super small. Do they change the routes there often?

Get ahold of "the man" he's in London for school and hangs with a gang of climbers.

I didn't know there was anything in London... and it's flat. I occasionally drive to Rattlesnake or Climbers Rock in Burlington (which is excellent). They have a climbers club, so you can just drop in & have a partner Mon-Wed-Friday. I'm open to anything that gets me climbing... from Woodstock.
