Hey, Is there anyone in St. Catharines right now who would like to climb the ol train bridge in Jordan, overlooking the harbour? My climbing buds are all in germany right now, and I have no rope, but all the other things required for scaling that limestone/sandstone bridge. Let me know, I leave the city on the 4th of Sept. Phone 9056856006.

Hey! I'm from St. Catharines and I've just started checking out the Jordon bridge. Pretty sandy, but it's good if I want to work on endurance rather than power at the glen after work. I just met a few people from St. Catharines who climb and they frequent the bridge and I'm getting them to go bouldering a little more too. If you're interested in going out some evening, or maybe the weekend (though weekends are pretty busy right now for me) let me know. Send me a PM or email (granite_grrl@hotmail.com) and we'll discuss a little further. I'll also tell the other guys I know who go there about you.

I am not from St. Catherines. But I can be to Jordan Station in like 30minutes. Would love to try it sometime. How hard is it though. I haven't lead anything above 5.8(sport) but I could probably TR it. This weekend is no good but sometime next weekend would probably be fine. Decaf

There are a couple of 5.6's, a 5.8 (??) and 5.9 (??) one the first pillar, all of which you can also top rope. There's also stuff on the second pillar where you have to lead up to it. I'll lead some of the 5.10 sport stuff at Nemo, but I wasn't thrilled with leading anything there. I did one of the 5.6's but preferred to toprope. I guess I didn't like the grit and sand on the rock, and it just seemed that there was stuff to hit on the way down (the 6's in the corners esp). Decaf: You're pretty close to Milton stuff right?? I go to Jordon because it's too far to get to Milton on a week night, not because there are quality lines.

Yeah I am about 20 minutes from Nemo but my partner lives in St. Catherines :) I would love to get up to nemo more often, though of course there is only one problem in my lead range (or at least what I call my range) and I still haven't been able to finish it.

Not 100% sure. I am assuming Jordan Station Road and then heading right (coming from T.O.) but not positive? So how badly am I going to get my self lost? :D

Yo Decaf, Take Jordan Exit off QEW. Head South. As soon as you cross some railroad tracks, turn right. Follow this road all the way to a "T" Junction. Park you car there Look North towards the Railroad tracks you crossed earlier and head towards some little brick Utility Building. To the right of the little building is an opening to a path. Follow the path to the railroad tracks and turn left at the tracks. Follow the tracks until the train bridge - follow the little path to the left before the bridge and you will find the top. Confused yet? Its not to bad Zee

In reply to: Nothin better than sand in the eye after work  Mmmm, sand.... Oh, and it's pretty easy to get there, follow Zee's instructions (they're also posted in routes db) and you should be good.

Hey ya'll, Thanks for all your responses, I hope to be out on the bridge on Monday or Tuesday at the latest. I'll be there around 4/5. I'm gonna bite the bullet and pick up a rope at MEC this weekend. Any tips? I am looking forward to meeting for a climb.

hellafinebam - Yeah, let us know if it's going to be Monday or Tuesday or both. I'll go one of those days if there's a crew out. Shortys - save one of those cab rides for the glen! "Love of my Life" on X- boulder is going down!
