Hey what's easy to you these days? Pick up Squamish Select if you want to head up to Cheakamus (where most of the sport is) but there isn't a lot below 5.8. Smoke Bluffs has a bunch of stuff to toprope and some easy slab sport, and Murrin Park also has some stuff you can hang a toprope on. If you've got money to burn I really suggest booking a guide and trying some trad. We went up the apron on the Chief last year (Diedre) and it was stunning. (I like to give my money to Squamish Rock Guides: great bunch of people...) Have fun, I'll be about 2 months behind ya... B

Not much easy sport in the Squamish area but most of the stuff in the Smoke Bluffs can be top roped (Burgers and Fries, Neat and Cool, Pixie Corner, Octopus Garden etc.). There are a few top ropeable areas in Murrin (Bog Wall, Sugarloaf, Chokin a Grogan etc.). There are a few easy sport climbs near Fatty Bolger in the bluffs and the Stooges wall on the Upper Malamute. Sport climbing in Chek, which is just North of Squamish after BoB (the Big Orange Bridge) up the Conroy FSR, starts at about 5.8. Not much top roping from what I remember. Closer to Whistler there is more sport at Cal-Chek again starting at around 5.8. I haven't spend much time there. In Whistler there are some good climbs in Nordic which is half way between the village and Creekside near the pedestrian overpass. I think there is some easier stuff there a the Swiss Cheese wall. I don't know about top roping. That stuff is all in the Whistler Rock Climbs guidebook which is pretty old at this point. I'm not sure what's going on up there as far as development. Star Chek is one of the best multipitch sport climbs in the area. 3 pitches (5.8,5.7 (40m), 5.9) which come up from the Squamish river going up an arete. Great exposure and beautiful surroundings. That's about all I know.
