Hi all... My partner and I are making our annual trip to the Maritimes. Last year we blasted out of Yarmouth and did our climbing in Maine and New Hampshire. This year we'd like to sample what NS has to offer. I'm originally from Dartmouth, so there will be some token family visiting getting in the way, but here are our tentative climbing dates: August 16-19 We'd like to check out Terrance Bay, Land of Confusion, and Dover Island. From what I can see in my NS tourism guide (weird to come back to your homeland as a tourist) the closest camping is in Glen Margaret. I would hope to meet up in the morning either at our campsite, or in the general area of the climbing. Please respond here or feel free to PM me. I offer you beer.

beer people. beer! i've printed out the online guidebooks for the peggys cove area. if anyone goes to MEC in halifax in the next week, let me know if they have the published guidebooks in stock? I'd like to pick one up and when i do a search on mec.ca for "bouldering guides" i am directed to biners and rope, as ironic as that is...

I'm sending this link to a good friend of mine who lives in Halifax. I taught him to climb, and he is a great fellow. Hopefully, he has time to climb with you ... however, he is planning to cycle across the country (to Vancouver! Yay!), so he may be busy. Beer, however, is a wonderful bribe. He is from Moncton. I believe beer is part of his diet. ;)

I don't believe he has lived in Moncton in a while, and he picked up the addiction in Halifax. He may wander into this thread eventually. <3 your giraffe

I had some trouble finding my way around, but this was years ago ... the areas are more developed now. You can try hitting the local gyms to find partners as well, I suppose.

there is a crew of us going there as well, but we're arriving on the 21st... I'm ex-local, returning with some VT and NH climbers. Have fun.
