Anyone know of any place, a gym or gear shop, where I can buy Ocun crack gloves? Climb On in Squamish and MEC have been sold out since the summer and no news about a new distributor. Thanks.

Try Calling MEC's customer service number... while the website may be saying out of stock, I know for a fact that there is at least 1 pair left in the system (size small) - I was playing with them today.

Thanks so much. I placed my order for size small by phone today. Hopefully all the right connections are made to get them shipped. I don't know how that all works but am crossing my fingers.

Can you help me obtain the smalls? Customer service is now saying the gloves are on backorder. This morning they said I could buy them, now no. Here is my order number in case you help make this connection work. 2924708-001 Should I try calling the store?

(Or, of course, you may not actually know either...) I've got a pair, and I ended up with a 2nd pair because I thought I lost my pair when some luggage got lost and replaced my pair, but with them becoming harder to get in Canada, I'm kind of glad I've got a back-up pair, now. But, I know a couple people who like them, and haven't been able to find them, too.

Unfortunately I can't touch your order, but you can call the burlington store (905)333-8559 and ask to have the gloves put on a "ship from store hold", then call the main order line and say burlington is holding them for you so they can ship them.

But, I know a couple people who like them, and haven't been able to find them, too. Ocun has not stopped making them. MEC gets their Ocun products from a company in Squamish, BC called Neat and Cool. The owner of that company passed away in 2012. No one had stepped up to take over his role (whether or not that is still the case, I do not know) so MEC had to find a replacement for all the various products that they got from Neat and Cool (Ocun slings, Ocun crack gloves, Ocun dog bones, Apex Rock fully adjustable harnesses, Ocun daisy chains, etc.) Most of those products were replaced with Edelrid and Black Diamond counterparts. At present, the issue of the lack of Ocun Crack Gloves has not yet been resolved as far as I know.

I am just ordering some from my friend in Europe, if you want a pair or 2, let me know. I think they come out to $35 each depending if I get enough, due to the shipping charges. I am in Orange County, California

For what it's worth, here's how my crack glove acquisition story turned out: I found out that the Calgary MEC store had my size in the gloves in January. Since I am in the US it was going to be expensive or impossible to ship them directly to me, so I called the store and they sent them to the Vancouver store. A friend of a friend who has a home in Squamish picked them up, took them back to Seattle to my friend. I shipped my friend a shipping envelope with pre-paid postage. So I got my gloves! AND if I ever see another pair my size, I will snatch them up. Given that it was so hard to get them, no I won't be loaning them out. I think you could surmise by the effort put out, these gloves are definitely worth having. I've used others. The Ocun design is just fundamentally better, lacking the failure points of the original Hand Jammies. (The current Hand Jammies, with the inner tube type rubber, are not worth purchasing. They will tear pretty quickly.)
