I'm looking for some new climbing buddies. It seems like there are never enough. I've been out to the bluffs and Pass Lake already and am hoping there are some more eager souls. If you exist let me know!

Just booked my flight today, flying to thunder bay May 6 to start my planting contract for the summer. I'm also moving there to go to Lakehead U, anyways I'm looking for someone to show me around the t-bay climbing. I've also took the last year off and went on a little four month climbing trip to Squamish, Yosemite, J-tree and Bishop. Im super phyched to climb trad up in T-bay, maybe a little sport too. I have a rope and a rack but no wheels. Drop me a line, can't wait to see what t-bay has to offer.

Have you checked out the bouldering wall at Wilderness Supply Co? They have a sign up board for finding partners, and its easy to hang out there and meet new climbers. I'd say call me, but Im heading home for the summer right after exams.

Hey I'm going to be planting in the Geraldton area, specifically in MacLeod Provincial Park. I am wondering if there is any good climbing nearby... and whether or nt its worth it for me to bring my crashpad and gear... if anyone knows and/or would be willing to show me the ropes to the nearby areas it would be GREATLY appreciated... cheers.

I'll probably be up there for about 3 months starting in early May. How long a drive would it be? and is there any kind of bouldering anywhere?

Flydragon, Is it worth joining the thunder bay chapter of the alpine club of canada? And in your opinion what is the best t-bay crag. The giant has the height but does it have number and quality. Taj Mai Hall area seems to have the greatest concentration of 3 star routes. Do you think the season will start by april? can you buy climbing gear in t-bay? json

Best Crag in Thunder Bay eh!~, well its all up to wha you wanna do? The Bluffs have hundreds of top-roping routes, or high ball boulder problems you could say, you can even lead some nice some trad lines. Silver Harbour! one of my favorites, lots of routes, lots of sport routes mostly in the 10's couple 11's and one sick project. Also lots of fun trad routes too. Orient Bay, Amazing Trad lines, and a few sport routes more goin up as we speak, Dude theres lot of great climbing anywhere in TBay, and if you can find it go to Mckenzie cliffs tough sport routes and some beauty trad lines Oh yeah and the Alpine Club is cool, if you wanna get to know people

t bay bouldering: drive along highway 17 east of thunder bay. not too long past the turn for sleeping giant you'll hit the wee town of Pearl. keep going, within in 2km or so you'll see a rest stop on yer left. 300-400m past this, take the very next left onto a dirt road. follow this to the end staying on the main road. (there are a few others splitting off) the end of the road is in an old quarry, and the road will most likely be overgrown with alders. park where you can and walk the road into the quarry (2 minutes). head up over the lip of the quarry and head towards the sound of the highway again. before you get to the highway, you will find some large boulders and a deep trench 20 feet high (5 minutes). explore a bit and you may find the ones that friends and i scrubbed in '99. you may need to scrub them again. that is all i know. the link below is a picture: http://rockclimbing.com/...n=Show&PhotoID=11919
