Thanks to those who replied to my question about Rock Gyms near Newton. Now, I'm wondering if there is public transportation around there other than the T, like buses that go to Dracut or Woburn.

I'm rather sure you could grab a bus(they are great in Boston) and pick the commuter rail up and head up to Woburn. In fact the BRG has info on how to get there this way. Dracut??? Good question, I don't think you'll find much heading that way and the gym isn't exactly located in a busy area.

I go to the gym in Woburn. I have never taken public transit there but the commuter rail is about 2 miles from the gym. I have been told you can just take a cab in from there. There was talk of setting up a shuttle or something but i don't know what came of it.

For buses look at http://www.mbta.com/traveling_t/schedules_buses_findbustown.asp
I was going to ask this else where but does anyone go to the woburn gym from boston on weeknights? I really need to go more then one day a week but have no good way to get there, I'd love to find a climbing partner/ride there

the commuter rail works, gives you about an hour to walk after you get off the train. but if you are coming from Newton it's going to be a bit of a hassle - you'd have to take the green line (slow as death) in to North Station to grab the Commuter train.

a better bet is to get matched up with some other climbers and hitch rides, as i said before there are others at BC that I know of who climb both at BRG and at Hammond. Use this board and www.bostonrockgym.com (although i think their message board is down for now due to some flame wars or something, maybe you could call the gym and ask them to post something on the "partners wanted" board at the gym) to get a partner. there are a ton of climbers around boston, you'll be fine if you look hard enough.
