Just went to scout and hike today. OH MAN! I had no idea New Jersey had cliffs like that! It's almost like Otter Cliffs, easily trails accessing the top of the cliffs for rap-down top-roping or whatever you're into. The rules explicitly cited no rock climbing though. Has anyone pursued getting access to the Palisades opened?

Yea, I got to see the scar from that fall. It must have been pretty awe-inspiring for whoever got to see it happen. It wouldn't have made news if it was such a regular occurrence, though. There's a trail that runs right along the bottom of the cliffs. Never heard anything about hikers being struck.

hay From what I understand the paaside intrerstate park commision allows no climbing yeard ago i was escorted by the nj state police from the cliff. I believe the same commision keeps us from getting acess in minawaska state park.
