I've been climbing for about a year now and am realyl itching to go outside. I've been stuck in a gym because since i dont have a car thats the best I can do. Well i was wondering if Ralph Stover was any good. I mean i would really like to go up to the Gunks but thats a little far. I'm not that of an experienced of a leader and neither is my climbing partner. Anyway, is it any good?

Sover would be a good place to visit. However since you don't have much lead expierence don't lead anything remotely close to your ability. The rock is soft and is known to break so its best to toprope. There are many classic climbs and some good bouldering too.

High Rocks is a good time to climb right now because of the cooler weather and limited people (tends to get crowded with hikers, bikers, etc). Toproping would probably be your best bet, but be cautious of poor anchors....they're out there.

If you are looking to get out there PM me and maybe I can meet up.
