Hey you all, I'm working at great smoky mountains until 10/01. I'm driving a used jeep cherokee sport through WV to extreme SW PA to visit my grandmother before I drive back to the west coast for the winter. My plans are pretty vague at the moment. I will be camping at summersville dam the first night(Monday), then scrambling around the rocks of the Gauley and the New. I have got my shoes, harness, helmet, belay dv, and rope, just need a partner with some hardware. I haven't been able to climb at all this summer, so I am itching to get my fingers roughed up. I can lead 5.8 sport confidently, and can follow up to 5.10a sport or trad. This is my first trip in the Appalachians, so would love to get shown some sick spots and if you ever get out west I could return the favor. On that note, My trip isn't ending in PA, I will be continuing from there through Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, SD, part of WY, and I will be spending a couple of weeks around Bozeman, MT. If you're like me and the idea of a cross-country rope-trip gets you a tingly feeling in your digits, there is prenty of room in the jeep. Peace
