Sorry if I am breaking some sort of ground rules, but I'm not quite looking for a partner (at least not right now). Rather I was wondering if anyone here is from the Ft. Knox area and could give me some pointers. I'm a 2LT in the Army and I'm going there for training from July to November, but I'm expecting to get weekends off. I'm interested in multipitch trad climbing but I enjoy sport as well. Where should I visit during my stay at Knox? And (I know its really early to be asking) will any of you be willing to take a lost Lieutenant climbing? I'm not asking anyone to commit, just "planting the seed" so to speak. Thanks!

the RED is where you want to go . RED River Gorge south and east of Lexington. Part of Dan Boone Nat. forest. Natural Bridge State Park is close too. Do research on the web. Summer is hot and muggy. Alot of climber stay at Migual's Pizza & campground. Look around during the summer and climb in the fall and spring.

Right on bro, my little bro is 22, and spent 18 months in Baghdad. Mad respect there. Glad you're into trad, I'm pretty stoked about that.
