Is it just me or is this Minnesota winter is too long. I cant wait untill the temperature gets back up around 0c so that I can go out and climb again. Also do you think that Talylors Falls is being overrun by some climbers with attitude?

Amen brotha! Cabin fever really starts to set in. There's no ice, I don't do plastic, and it's still too cold for the rock. I guess we shouldn't bitch too much we had 50 degree days in mid december

I just went climbing a couple of days ago 20 minutes from my house. Granite crags overlooking the Pacific Ocean, sunny, about 75-80 degrees. Got a little warm ,actually. Sorry guys! I'm TRYING to feel your pain.

Yeah I am pretty ready to be back at Red Wing, or even Taylors, and I kinda do think that Taylors maybe becoming overrun, but I like to be polite and offer them a trip up my rope. Arete

fo_d...you northerners probably laugh at what we call cold, huh? We start shivering when it gets below 60. You guys are studs up there. Isn't Minnesota part of Canada?

Aw c'mon guys, it's been a warm winter! I've been out there a few days bouldering when the windchill's zero or below. Hiding out in the potholes, this cuts a lot of the wind. Oh yeah, I plan on moving after I graduate. To Yosemite. Or Bishop. Or Utah. Anywhere the friggin' winter doesn't seem like 13 months of the year.

Hey all you folks in Sotaland, I went bouldering at Taylor Falls once. It was good Basalt. But I am sorry, that Taylor Falls is one of the only places to climb around there. Between the Mosquitos and the humidity. How can I put this without offending anyone. Well It sucked! Probably good in the fall. If you ever want climb in the desert send me a message. I will show you around. Plenty of rock dry weather and no mosquitos. Well good luck with the weather. Later.

Personally I'm not offended, I must agree with you that we here in Minnesota really got screwed on the rock. And yes the winters are long and cold, and the summers are short hot and full of mosquitoes and other bugs, but .... ummm what was I talking about? We really got screwed... anyway its our home and we like it.

Les is right, there's tons of rock around. Some is highly developed but there is plenty of smaller crags around that have fantastic climbing and are relatively undeveloped. Plenty of bouldering....no boys, we don't have it bad at all
